Space invader

A LITTLE piece of Beer could be on the verge of making history.
As has been widely reported on national news bulletins, tiny bacteria samples taken from the cliffs in the east Devon village have survived for more than a year-and-a-half in space.
The microbes were sent to the International Space Station to see if they could survive and what the effect of living outside the Earth’s atmosphere would be on them.
Now the samples have been returned to earth and are being analysed by scientists from the Open University in Milton Keynes.
Speaking to Pulman’s View, Mike Green, district councillor for Beer, said he was sure that the samples taken from the Beer rocks would go down in history.
Mr Green said: “Obviously we have know that this experiment has been going on for a few years.
